Immortal

You were created in the fires

of a celestial forge

and wrapped in the warmth

of a father's love

Spiritual birth

in a heavenly home

endowed with light

immortal as the stars

Sent to a place

of darkness and despair

to bring hope

to a fallen world

Forgetting

your inherited divinity

Allowing darkness

to overwhelm you

But it does not change

who you are inside

Every fall is an opportunity

to get back up and finish the race

Looking at yourself

and seeing only weakness

But I see

your immeasurable strength

Fearing

the darkness

And not realizing

the darkness fears you more
